Cambodia, Russia discuss trade
Since reaching a deal to import agricultural products from the kingdom to Russia in mid-2016, Cambodia and Russia have now started talks on boosting trade involving agriculture, garments and oil. Cambodia asked Russia to import milled rice, sugar and garment products to comply with the agreement attained in May between Prime Minister Hun Sen and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, according to a meeting between Cambodian Commerce Ministry secretary of state Tek Reth Kamrang and Russia’s ambassador Dmitry Tsvetkov. Ms. Reth Kamrang, in the meeting, suggested the Russian ambassador consider importing garment products, particularly winter coats, and agricultural products such as milled rice, sugar and rubber in response to the Economic and Trade Relations agreement, in which Russia promised to import more than 3,000 products from Cambodia under a zero-tariff scheme.
