Asian Development Bank youth video competition – ‘Who’s growing tomorrow’s food?’ 

The Asian Development Bank has launched a youth video competition, organized in conjunction with its 2nd Asian Irrigation Forum (AIF2) to be held 17-19 November in Manila.

The competition is inviting young people to weigh in on the irrigation challenges that the Asia-Pacific region is facing today. Budding filmmakers, ages 18 to 30, are invited submit a video of up to 3-minutes in length on the theme “Who’s growing tomorrow’s food?”

Your video can:

  • Look forward: How can we face the challenges ahead?
  • Focus on people involved: Who are affected by irrigation challenges?
  • Focus on AIF2:

Your film can be in any digital video format – you can even use your mobile phone. Videos in any genre, including but not limited to animation, documentary, drama, experimental, art, testimonial, etc. will be accepted. Entries are open until 30 September 2015.

Who can enter?

Any young citizen of any one of ADB’s 67 members, between 18 to 30 years old, and who is interested in irrigation can join. ADB employees and their family members are not eligible to compete.

Prizes

One grand prize winner and 5 runner-up videos will be selected by a team of judges.  The grand prize winning video will be screened at the opening plenary of AIF2 and shared on the ADB website and social media channels. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expense (transportation, accommodation, and daily allowance) paid trip to Manila, Philippines to participate in AIF2 and introduce the video at the event.
