Open Development Mekong launches new user interface
The team at Open Development Mekong (ODM) and its network partners are very happy to announce the recent release of a major update since the platform was soft-launched in beta in July 2015.
During the past months, the team has been gathering and addressing feedback from users and partners in order to improve not only the look-and-feel of the site but also the processes behind it. With this new version, users will enjoy:
- A redesigned user interface with improved navigation and content discoverability. Browse through news summaries, topic pages, profiles databases, maps, law compendium, datasets and reports within a country site or across countries easily. The country site selector on the top bar allow users to discover similar content on another country site or the regional site.
- Better support for mobile devices. The layout of the site has been extensively refactored to ensure a fantastic user experience for small screens. Almost 30% of our users browse the contents on their mobile phones and tablets.
- Revised features, such as the search functionality with improved content exposure and the new data pages with new filtering capabilities for allowing user to make sense of the more than 2000 datasets currently shared under open licenses for the public to download, use and reuse.
A new thematic map explorer feature will be available in the next release. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter for future detailed video-tutorials of every new feature.
