Laos, Thailand step up education cooperation
Laos’ Ministry of Education and Sports will partner with Thailand’s Ministry of Education to increase cooperation in education with the aim of improving English teaching skills for Lao teachers. The plan was outlined on Monday when representatives of the two ministries met in Vientiane. The Lao side was led by Minister of Education and Sports Ms Sengdeuane Lachanthaboun, while the Thai delegation was led by her counterpart Mr Teerakiat Jareonsettasin. Mr Teerakiat and his delegation were on a working visit to Laos with the aim of strengthening education cooperation between the two countries. The two parties agreed to provide more English language training for Lao teachers in a bid to improve standards to regional and international levels.
