KOICA extends support for immigration capacity development
The Korea International Cooperation Agency will provide grant aid of US$8.6 million to support Laos’s immigration capacity development project. The aid will fund the project to improve systems and institutional capacity building for the Immigration Department at the Ministry of Public Security from 2017 to 2020, according to KOICA Laos office. Resident Representative of KOICA Laos office, Mr Hahngjoo Kim and Director General of the General Police Department at the Ministry of Public Security, Brigadier Bounmy Sengkhamyong signed the Record of Discussions on February 13 in Vientiane to move the project forward. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Laos, Mr Yun Kang-hyeon, Minister of Public Security, Major General Somkeo Silavong and officials from both sides.
