Germany to provide over 61 billion kip for education development
The German government will provide grant aid of over 61 billion kip (EUR 6.8 million) to contribute to educational development in Laos, with a focus on vocational training. The funding will support vocational training courses and upgrade teaching and learning in Laos through the Ministry of Education and Sports. It will also be used to expand the campus and development at the Lao-German Technical College in Vientiane. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday by Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, Associate Prof. Dr Kongsy Sengmany, and Senior Project Manager of Sustainable Economic Development East Asia of the KfW Development Bank, Dr Julia Kubny.
