Electronics plant construction starts
Construction has started on a $60 million electronics factory as Thailand’s SVI company expands into the Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone. SVI Cambodia, the local subsidiary, signed a 50-year lease in July 2015 and says it hopes the work will be complete by October. Pongsak Lothongkam, CEO of SVI Cambodia, said the factory will produce electronic equipment to supply the global market, especially to Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Sweden, Germany and Denmark.
